Each season, we try to plan a member’s night, offering a free show and opportunity to see great artists that are new to our region. We have two great artists to share in April. Member's Nights are a risk-free opportunity to make a discovery or two. We know you will be glad you discovered Cara and Shane.
Juno award-winning singer-songwriter-musician Cara Luft is that rare artist steeped in folk and traditional roots music almost from birth, yet willing to alter the fabric, stretch the boundaries, and fearlessly bend genres and styles. A founding member of Canadian folk super-group The Wailin' Jennys and the brainchild behind Winnipeg's acclaimed powerhouse duo The Small Glories, Luft deserves her solid reputation as one of Canada’s finest live performers, armed with amazing tenacity, vision, energy and a contagious hilarity.
Shane Pendergast is a folksinger from Tracadie Cross, Prince Edward Island. Hailing from a long lineage of storytellers and musicians in Prince Edward Island, he is keeping the Maritime folk tradition alive with his honest and insightful compositions. From acclaimed folk festivals across the world to the small halls of PEI, Shane has cemented himself as one of Atlantic Canada’s finest folk troubadours. His 2021 album Second Wind won the Contemporary Roots Album of the Year at the Music PEI Awards.
