Join the deCoste for a welcoming event designed to foster connection and reduce social isolation. Whether you're new to the area, widowed, retired, living alone—or simply looking to meet new people—this is your chance to build meaningful friendships in a relaxed, friendly setting.
Each 4-hour gathering includes a screening of The Age of Love—a touching and humorous documentary about seniors exploring speed dating—followed by a shared meal and our Social Butterfly Speedy Meet & Greet, a guided activity to spark fun and easy conversation.
Limited to 48 participants per event. A short pre-survey at ticket purchase will help us plan seating, food, and conversation matches. Transportation is available through Chad Transit.
For those requiring transportation, to assist with the logistics for the bus drivers, please select the event to attend based on the region you reside in for Chad Transit to pick you up:
10:30 am-2:30 pm - Residents of Central Pictou and Pictou East
3:30-7:30 pm- Residents of Pictou West
The following will give you an idea of the schedule for the day:
10:30 am | 3:30 pm - Viewing of the Age of Love;
12:00 pm | 5:00 pm- Lunch | Supper (soup/salad & sandwiches & dessert with tea, coffee, water or apple juice);
1:00 pm | 6:00 pm- Speedy Meet & Greet & wrap up survey.
