Following on the heels of its sold out, four-run 1970s tribute show, this performance will feature 40 billboard hits from the 1960s - the decade when rock ‘n roll, civil rights, and flower power all came of age. The ‘60s were revolutionary times, and the social and cultural transformation was taking place on the streets, in homes, and on the radio.

With the British Invasion, acts like the Beatles and Rolling Stones reinterpreted American soul and R&B, while American acts like Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Otis Redding were heating up stages and enjoying huge commercial success. Rock matured and developed a more eclectic and international sound while Johnny Cash became one of the most influential musicians of the decade, with his genre-bending country music that was full of compassion for everyone from minorities to prison inmates and the working class.

Pictou County Pop Classics has established itself as a musical experience with the ability to take audiences back to the best parts of the 1960s. Audience members are encouraged to join in by coming in costume for a chance to win a prize. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to an individual, family or organization in the community in need of assistance.
