The multi-award-winning quintet Goitse was forged in the whitehot creative crucible of Limerick University’s Irish World Academy. Recently crowned Live Ireland’s ‘Trad group of the Year’ in the USA, the 2016 ‘Freiburger Leiter’ in Germany, and featuring this years ‘Female Voice of the Year’, Áine Mc Geeney, they have made a name for themselves as one of the most sought after bands in Irish traditional music. Their fourth album, Inspired by Chance, has received rave reviews as the band continues to take the traditional Irish music scene by storm.

Band Members:

Áine Mc Geeney (Vocals/Fiddle) – Described as a ‘feisty fiddler’ and possessing a ‘voice of an angel’. She has toured extensively as lead Fiddle player with Michael Flatley’s world famous ‘Lord of the Dance’.

Colm Phelan (Bodhrán) – Twice the All-Ireland Bodhrán champion and the first ever World Bodhrán champion.

Tadhg Ó Meachair (Piano / Piano Accordion) – A virtuoso musician, talented composer and an All-Ireland Piano Champion.

Conal O’Kane (Guitar) – Provides driving rhythm along with chords to suit every mood. It’s no wonder he is being hailed as one of the finest guitarist of his generation.

Alan Reid (Banjo/Mandolin) – His banjo, bouzouki, mandolin, and oud playing has seen him work extensively in both performance and recording settings, as well as making a movie appearance in the 2014 movie ‘Noble’.
